          Resumen de reseñas

          “Avatar” de James Cameron se presenta como una experiencia visual deslumbrante que, a pesar de sus 160 minutos de duración, ofrece solo destellos de una narrativa convincente. Desde su brillante inicio, el espectador queda hipnotizado por la inmersión en un mundo fantástico, aunque pronto se percata de que la historia es un viaje conocido, similar a un western ecologista que recuerda a “Pocahontas” y “Dances With Wolves”. La película, aclamada por su innovador uso del 3D, cae en la trampa del maniqueísmo, presentando personajes planos y diálogos predecibles que restan profundidad a su mensaje.

          A lo largo del filme, la espectacularidad visual, un verdadero tour de force técnico, parece más un escaparate de avances digitales que un vehículo para contar una historia envolvente. Cameron, a pesar de su perfeccionismo, parece haber olvidado la esencia de una narrativa sólida. No obstante, su habilidad para crear paisajes visuales que quedan grabados en la retina es innegable, y muchas escenas de acción son cautivadoras. En resumen, “Avatar” es un logro técnico que deslumbra y entretiene, pero que, al final, deja un regusto a superficialidad.

          Allí donde se juntan cine y alucine. (...) se sale ebrio de fantasía, pero entero, porque la película ha tenido la sensatez de mantener el fondo liviano del cuento, el 'érase una vez', dentro de un pellejo abrumadoramente perfecto. (...)
