La reciente adaptación de "La máquina del tiempo" presenta un cóctel de aventuras y fantasías que, aunque visualmente atractiva, se siente superficial en su desarrollo emocional. La historia sigue a un científico que, impulsado por la tragedia personal, construye una máquina para viajar al pasado con la esperanza de cambiar su destino. Sin embargo, su viaje lo lleva a un futuro desolador y absurdo, donde la narrativa se vuelve forzada y pierde la esencia de la obra original de H.G. Wells. A pesar de algunos momentos entretenidos y efectos especiales decentes, muchos críticos coinciden en que la película no logra capturar la profundidad y el asombro del relato original, dejando un vacío donde debería haber conexión emocional.
Los intentos de explorar temas complejos como el destino y las teorías del viaje en el tiempo quedan opacados por un guion mediocre y una ejecución que a menudo cae en lo trivial.
